A new restaurant has opened along the Chicago River, bringing a bohemian vibe to the city's riverfront.
Beatnik on the River, a spinoff of the popular Northwest Side staple, brings with it brightly colored tiles and pillows, plenty of fringe and lots of greenery.
Nestled along the South Branch of the Chicago River, at 180 N. Upper Wacker Dr., the eatery offers up a 160-person riverside patio and bar, dishing out some of the same meals fans of the original Beatnik will recognize. Not to mention 100 wines, 20 local brews from Illinois and cocktails designed to minimize waste in the restaurant.
